How to download an Instagram story

Where do downloaded stories go on iPhone and Android?
On iPhone, Safari saves the file to the Downloads folder in the Files app. Open it there and use the share menu to save it to Photos.
On Android, the file usually goes to the Downloads folder and shows up in your Gallery app. On a computer, it goes to your browser's default download folder.
Before you download
Only current stories from public accounts can be downloaded. Private accounts and highlights are not supported.
The content belongs to other people. Keep downloads for personal use, don't repost without permission, and respect the rights of the people who made them.
